Our 2019 Giving Trees. Pay it Forward

a forest of delights

The beautifully decorated Giving Trees are a significant and very special part of the event, and a wonderful way to pay it forward at a time of Giving. Our Guests will have an opportunity to bid on four Giving Trees this year in our live auction: BC Children's Hospital, The Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, Victim Services Coquitlam,  and Tri-City Transitions Society. The gifts under the tree and the décor will be donated to the specific charity and the proceeds from the auction will benefit Crossroads Hospice Society, while the lucky bidder will receive a tax receipt in the amount of the winning bid for their generosity.

Kids Giving Tree - BC Children's Hospital

BC Children's Hospital offers clinics, support services and hospital care to BC children and their families at the BC Children's Hospital site and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. Caring for more than 85,000 infants, children and youth each year, BC Children’s Hospital is a leader in general and specialized pediatric services, and is the province’s foremost teaching facility for child health.

The program ‘Child Life’ promotes coping through various interventions to help children, youth and families cope with stressful events. Providing play and other normalizing activities can help with this coping process. Child Life programs endeavor to meet each family’s unique emotional and social needs.

This year’s Giving Tree for BC Children’s hospital will provide many toys, books, musical instruments, art supplies, and much more for the Child Life program.

Teen Giving Tree - The Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau

Christmas is about family and friends. It is about sharing and giving. Christmas should be a happy time for everyone, especially for children. For over eighty years our number one goal has been to ensure that every child in our community has a smile on their face on Christmas Day. As a registered non-profit organization, the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau (LMCB) was originally established in 1930 as the Christmas Exchange. We serve as the local Christmas Bureau for Vancouver. The LMCB distributes toys, clothes and food vouchers to over 1000 low income families in the Metro Vancouver area during the holiday season.

This year’s Giving Tree will provide items for the Tweens and Teens program.
